  10. Computer Aided Design (CAD) allows us to create high precission vectorial  images, which comes to be very useful to design plans. AutoCad is the most famous software to draw arquitectural plans in 2D, and there is a free and educational version that we might use: DraftSight.Another useful software in 2D CAD is QCAD: we have a free trial in our IT class, but be carefull: you have to save your work each 10 min. An alternative option is LibreCad. I found a good manual to learn how to use QCAD in the web site of IES Donoso Corté: manual de QCad. I suggest you to try the exercises you can find in the website prácticas con QCad.

Sketch Up

It is a powerfull bu simple software with a free version that you can download in its own site. In Cristalab blog you will find a useful tSketch UP titorial.


A very simple editor that you ca use to create models to be printed in a 3Dprinter. It is free and online, you just have to sign up.

One more step in 3D design: to visualize the objects you have created, With a pair of VR glasses you can see all you can design with this astonishing and brand new online and free app in which you can find templates with lots of elements, and where you can also upload your own pictures (360º photos go perfect!) or 3D creations.
